For the second year running, AXA is taking part in the Great National Cause initiated by Make.org, whose mission is to mobilize civil society to positively transform our society. The 2024 consultation invites all citizens to share their good ideas and their proposals for concrete actions to act in favour of biodiversity, by answering this crucial question: "How can we protect and restore biodiversity together?"
We all have a proactive role to play in protecting all forms of life and the interactions between them.
We need to take far-reaching action to radically transform our relationship with living things, our values, our lifestyles, our modes of governance, our ways of producing and consuming, to make them truly sustainable. There is still time for us all to act!
At the end of this consultation, the proposals approved by the public and validated by experts will be transformed into large-scale actions across the country until June 2027.
At AXA, we are committed to positively increasing our societal role in the fight against global warming, of which the preservation of biodiversity is a major component. France is the 6th country with the highest number of threatened species. The global situation is also alarming, with 3.2 billion people at risk. By acting together, we can achieve major changes on a large scale.
All ideas are welcome to help us meet the challenges of tomorrow.
So do not hesitate to submit your best ideas and vote for those of other participants until 22 September.

Becoming a founding partner of the Great Biodiversity Cause with Make.org was a natural step for AXA. As a global insurance company, we are involved on a daily basis in the fight against climate change and in adapting to its effects. The challenge of preserving biodiversity is therefore a natural extension of our actions in this area. Strongly committed to this issue, we are, for example, one of the initiators of a working group on nature-related financial information (TNFD), within the framework of which we are working to establish appropriate indicators to understand the impact of economic players on biodiversity. Each year, AXA publishes a study of the potential impacts of its activities on biodiversity (AXA as an issuing company) and of its investment portfolio (AXA as an investor). It is in line with these commitments that we are taking part in the Make.org initiative.
